Saskatchewan lithium project enters a federal investment prospectus as Canada courts global capital for strategic supply-chain projects.

Prairie Lithium (ASX:PL9)

SYDNEY, NSW, AUSTRALIA, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Prairie Limited (ASX: PL9, OTC: PLIXF), or Prairie Lithium, has been selected for inclusion in the Canada Investment Summit Prospectus, putting its Saskatchewan lithium project in front of global institutional and strategic investors as Canada moves to accelerate investment in critical minerals and domestic supply chains.

The Prairie Lithium Project is among a curated group of investment-ready Canadian projects being presented at the Canada Investment Summit in Toronto on September 14–15. Prairie Lithium is also participating directly in the event, with Executive Director Zach Maurer taking part in panel and roundtable discussions and meeting with institutional and strategic investors on potential investment and partnership opportunities.

The federal summit comes as Canada seeks to catalyze $1 trillion in total investment over the next five years. The first-of-its-kind event is hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney in partnership with CPP Investments and PSP Investments and is designed to connect global capital with productive Canadian assets, infrastructure and industries considered important to the country’s long-term economic resilience.

For Prairie Lithium, inclusion follows a series of project-development milestones. The company says the Prairie Project has become Canada’s first and only lithium brine facility approved for commercial-scale production, received North America’s largest Direct Lithium Extraction unit and secured a strategic offtake agreement with Hydro Lithium.

The timing also places the project within a broader Canadian policy push to expand domestic critical-minerals production and reduce supply-chain vulnerabilities. Natural Resources Canada’s current Critical Minerals Strategy is focused on increasing responsibly sourced supply and developing integrated domestic and global value chains, with lithium among the minerals targeted for increased Canadian production.
That policy backdrop gives the Summit particular relevance for projects moving from development toward commercial operations. Prairie Lithium’s current investor materials target first production from Pad #1 in the fourth quarter of 2026, while the project website says its initial production phase is fully permitted and construction is underway.

Investors will now be watching whether Prairie Lithium’s exposure at the Summit translates into new strategic partnerships or investment discussions, alongside continued execution at the Saskatchewan project as the company advances toward its targeted first production. The immediate focus remains engagement with institutional and strategic investors and progression of the Prairie Lithium Project toward commercial operations.

Executive Quote
Prairie Lithium Executive Chairman, Paul Lloyd, commented:
“The selection of the Prairie Project for inclusion in the Canada Investment Summit Prospectus is recognition of the significant progress achieved by the Prairie Lithium team and the Project’s strategic relevance to Canada’s emerging lithium and critical minerals supply chain. The Prairie Project has achieved several important milestones, including becoming Canada’s first and only lithium brine facility approved for commercial-scale production, the arrival of North America’s largest Direct Lithium Extraction unit, and the execution of a strategic offtake agreement with Hydro Lithium. The Summit provides Prairie Lithium with an important opportunity to showcase the Prairie Project to a global audience of institutional and strategic investors and to advance discussions around potential investment and strategic partnerships”
